A Million Dollar Moments in Riviera Maya, Mexico
Riviera Maya Excursions
I was desirably anxious to see the much talked about stunning place in Mexico called Riviera Maya on the stretch of the Caribbean coastline- Mexico’s northeastern Yucatán Peninsula. So we arrived early in the morning in Quintana Roo with about two days to acclimatize prior to our trek to Riviera Maya. It is actually pronounced [ri’βjeɾa ‘maʝa]). The Cancún International Airport of Mexico is pretty calm with the typical assortment of travel agents, tour operators and taxi drivers all vying for our attention as we arrived. We got our bags and managed to find an aggressive taxi driver who didn’t look too intimidating and actually spoke English. We headed straight to Riviera Maya, which is about a few hours drive. Riviera Maya is a region in the south of Cancun that begins at Puerto Morelos and ends at the Sian Ka’an Biosphere.

Maya is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Mexico and the largest city in Playa del Carmen. The population is 250,000 people. It is said that Playa is the only city in Maya that confidently held its head and created an exciting cultural revolution with charming art. These cities have experienced tremendous growth over the past decade due to the large patronage of tourists around the world.

On arrival at the Cancún International Airport in Mexico, which is 50 km (31 mi) north of Playa del Carmen and almost 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Tulum, you should get in touch with any of the affordable public transport drivers on the premises of the airport. Alert them of the journey you are about to take. These taxi drivers are already geared up waiting for a call on from visitors.

It is essential and advisable for a traveller to check if the driver has a U.S. driver’s licence. This is the authorised license for every commercial driver in Mexico.
Best time to Visit Maya Riviera
The dry season begins in late November and ends in February, making it the best time to visit the Riviera Maya. It’s advisable to avoid travelling from March through May. Still and all, the heat and humidity are difficult to bear. The rainy-season months (May to December) in Maya should be ignored. They are not comfortable for travelers. The Riviera Maya experiences a season of a multitude of visitors trooping to the place for fun. Usually, July and August are the months appropriate for visitors ( both locals and foreigners). During these periods, destinations to Riviera Maya tend to be very packed. Many visitors will have the opportunity to meet new people especially if you’re a lone traveller. On the other hand, it’s also easier to book group tours for a less or reasonable price as group visitors are given discounts on almost all deals.

The Riviera Maya with its picturesque beauty, is proud of its many interesting events. Some swim with stingrays, dive with dolphins and more. Confident and experienced divers are also not excluded. Get ready to dive into the largest underwater museum in the world. This beautiful collection is deeper and closer to eight (8) meters. Enjoy an unforgettable diving adventure in the world’s longest underground river system.
Underwater lanterns and scuba diving are available for those who are afraid of this underground river. Let’s go on a “crazy” journey along the longest river. You will be amazed by the outstanding beauty of the cavy and the transparent structures above and below water. As clear and whitish as a snow, the water can attract you to go down swimming.
Into Riviera Maya
If you are planning such a trip, you may have imagined a lot of fun experience. This feeling is only special when you reach the Riviera Maya. All the cities of Riviera Maya have unique tourist attractions. In these cities, which were developed after the appearance of Cancun, have fewer inhabitants. They usually have a lifestyle that focuses on beaches and local rivers that use Maya. Most of the cities of Riviera Maya are dominated by Americans and Canadians. You will also be amazed by the classic nature of San Rancho Felipe, a small Mayan town. San Rancho Felipe which means pasture of Felipe Lugo is just super-exciting to be a guest of this tiny village.
According to my reliable sources, Felipe Lugo was the son of Antonio Maria Lugo of Rancho San Antonio, hence what brought about the name. Spend time in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve and enjoy the stunning views from there. This beautiful nature reserve is located in the south of the Maya Riviera, where you can see an incredible variety of crocodiles, spiders
Cancún is one of the largest cities in Maya with a population of up to one million people. It is a large city on the northeastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. Past records show that this is the first tourist destination built in the early 1970s. Cancún has an area known as a tourist area where hotels, entertainment and business events gather. It has one of the best resorts and and has left a lasting impression on the minds of many. Especially, the introduction of the ‘Spring Break Haven’ where kids also have their party during the winter. Over 25,000 travelers visit the Riviera Maya every year. This clearly helps to stimulate the tourism industry in Mexico and increase national income. For a while I thought I would stay here for another week. The trip was worth the money paid. Have a super wayfare and Bienvenido a ‘traduce Maya (Welcome to Maya).
