Originally built in 1924 in order to celebrate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary, it also was the very last place that British troops were stationed before they left in 1947. This is when India gained its Independence. Not only is it filled with history and importance, but it\u2019s also striking to look at and makes for an incredible photo opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in central Mumbai is the Haji Ali which is a tomb and a mosque. The structure dates all the way back to 1431 and is located right in the middle of the ocean. What this means is that you can only access it by a walkway that is 500 yards long, and extremely narrow, and can only be used during low tide. It makes for a spectacular and unique experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are somewhat of a history buff then you’ll appreciate the history behind Banganga Tank. This is the oldest continually inhabited spot in the city. You’ll find narrow streets, Dharamsalas (religious rest houses), residential houses, and temples, all of which are historic and incredible to see in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
